Igloo Productions asked us to produce a simple site to promote their range of courses dealing with addictive behaviours. Whether you want to stop smoking, cope with stress, relationship issues and just need to unwind and relax, Iglo have a course to help you in the South East.
While we couldn’t find a photograph of an igloo that was good enough to use, we kept to the snow and ice theme throughout the site. Iceburgs are a subtle hint - most peoples behavioural problems have a cause lurking just under the surface.
At a later stage a custom built online booking system will be added, and no doubt the site will expand with additionl information and self-help techniques.
When you have a business as diverse as Mind Training, with so many different disciplines it can be hard to get a message out that gets noticed about specifics. That’s where mini-sites come in. They’re optimised for one particular aspect of your business and should - once listed - funnel people taht find the site on to your main site.
One such example is Craving Chocolate. Charlie Forester of Mind Training asked us to create a singe page advertisement centering on chocolate cravings and why it’s useless to resist them. Instead one should tackle their cravings using Mind Trainings proven techniques that have worked with other addictive behaviours, such as smoking.
Visuals were obviously very important and we managed to find a stock photo of a lovely big chunk of chocolate on a white background. Mmmmmmm….chocolate….
…Then it was simply a case of choosing some complimentary (fairly primary) colours for the text and putting it all together. Ultimately, the site needed to be simple with just some keyword rich text.
If the site is a success, we will produce other mini-sites for problems such as smoking, drug and alcohol addiction, etc.
We’re helping author Eric Hunter publicise his book of the same title. Eric specialises in teaching ‘real-world’ english to Japanese business men and women, via his consultancy City Language Ltd.
Eric has a wealth of experience in financial markets, having worked for the Bank of England for many years before starting his business. Currently, he is retained by a number of Japanese banks to assist their Japanese Employees with English in their London offices.
The site contains information about the author, excerpts from the book and a searchable database of English terms that students might find helpful, or to clarify certain points. This database is regularly updated by Eric, thanks to a back-end admin system that we built for him.
Lastly, we made use of Paypals shopping cart to enable Eric to sell his book online. You can view the site at Real English For Japanese Business People
